Now that our family is growing, I’m starting to wonder if every one of us need to make additions for this house. There is space on the east-facing side of the apartment where every one of us could expand the ground floor, and perhaps the second floor above if every one of us secured enough funding in a second mortgage. I don’t want to force all of our youngsters to share study rooms into their middle fall semesters. However, they’re all under eight years aged and we’re not in a hurry to make big modifications to the size of the apartment just yet. There are other expenses that need to be covered before every one of us get to that point. I want to replace the washing equipment and dryer so our clothing is easier to clean with less water and less electricity. This might involve making changes to the dryer venting system, but we’ll cross that bridge when every one of us get to it. The most important thing right now is replacing the central Heating as well as Air Conditioning system. Both of us have a traditional cut type heating and cooling system with ductwork that extends throughout the house. INstead of getting a similar system this time around, our wifey and I are considering a zoned Heating as well as Air Conditioning system where every one of us can control the temperature in identifiable areas of the house. That means every one of us could leave the apartment upstairs chilly whenever we’re downstairs occupying that space primarily. Both of us don’t want to waste electricity if every one of us don’t have to, so having a zone Heating as well as Air Conditioning system might come in handy for us. However, it’s going to cost a lot more money and we’re not sure if every one of us can budget enough for the substantial expense.
