At the end of the day, I never leave work until all of my employees are back at the commercial and recreational heating and air conditioning repair and installation service shop.
I thought that all of the guys were done for the day, so I turned off the lights in the warehouse, locked the doors, and headed home for the evening.
I totally forgot about one of the technicians that was working on a commercial heating and AC repair. The worst part about forgetting was the fact that he had to come back to the shop to get parts and the place was locked up like fort knox. I know that the guy was aggravated. He hasn’t been an employee with us for a very long time. I tried to explain that this type of thing does not happen all the time, but he was too upset to hear what I was saying. After I came back to the shop to open things up, he got the parts that he needed and went back to work on the AC repair. The next morning there was a note under the door at the company. The employee decided to terminate his relationship with the company and asked to be paid out within 3 days. I tried to call the guy to talk to him. I really didn’t want to lose him as an employee. I thought he was doing a pretty good job. Unfortunately, there was really nothing that I could say after he was that mad. He was going to quit working for the heating and AC repair and installation service even if I got down on my hands and knees and apologized from the bottom of my heart.
