All throughout the last week, I have been telling my husband that it feels cold inside of the house.
Our bedroom has felt colder and so has the living room.
Even the kids have complained about it being cold in the bedroom. I told my husband when he came home from work on Wednesday that the furnace was making a strange sound. I thought this could be the perfect opportunity to get a contractor here to fix the problem. I thought we were going to need to call the repair service, but my husband said he would fix the problem. He came home from work that day and put his feet up on the couch with a beer in one hand and the remote control and the other one. I reminded him that there was a problem with the furnace and he said that it felt warm inside of the house. I looked at the thermostat and it was 66°. The heat was set to 70°. The furnace was running, so my husband didn’t think there was a problem. I put in an extra blanket on the bed for the kids and I slept with long pajamas. Yesterday the furnace finally broke down for good. It happened during the day when my husband was at work. I tried to call him, but he did not answer the phone. I contacted the furnace repair service on my own. When the furnace repair tech came to look at the system, he asked if we heard strange noises or sounds coming from the machine. He said it was the first sign of problems.
