I wanted to market his HVAC company. (daughter for father

My father was always telling me I had to go to college and not just work for the rest of my life.

  • I thought dad had a career and didn’t just work, but I did what he asked.

I was his daughter and would do anything that would make him happy. I went to school, but instead of being a teacher, or doctor, or some other thing that would take years and more money than we could afford, I took classes for marketing. I wanted to own an online marketing company, and specialize in HVAC marketing. I thought it was the best way to honor my dad. After graduation, i marched into his office and told him I wanted a job. He asked if he was wrong, but he thought he had sent me to college. I asked if he had noticed what classes I was taking. He looked at me and shook his head. I told him I had taken marketing classes and business management. I also took classes in HVAC. I wanted to be a marketing consultant and web development business owner for HVAC companies. I knew that if he gave me a job as his marketing agent, I could grow his business within a year. I was sure of what I could do, and I had already written up a business plan for him. My dad just looked at me and then steepled his fingers in front of his mouth. I could feel him looking at me, but I was showing him my plans. The plans were strewn all over his desk, but he wasn’t looking at them. When I finally looked up at him, all he said was that I was hired.
