My dad purchased a used hot tub.
He knew it was a bad idea, one of his friends from work knew a guy that knew a guy.
Dad did not ask a lot of questions about the hot tub. It was in nice shape, and he saw pictures of it running. My dad did not know if the hot tub had hot water or not. However, the guy selling it assured him that the tepid water would work just fine. The complication with the hot water turned out not to be the biggest issue with the hot tub. The biggest issue with the hot tub was the fact that none of the lights were working. The hot tub was still cool and neat. Without any lights it wasn’t as fun, but none of the inside lights were under the water section where the Jets were located. None of the lights above the water worked either. My dad had to phone an electrical service repair to mend the lights. The electrical service repair told him that it was going to be $350 to service all the lights. None of the wiring for the electricity was hooked up at all and it was going to take many hours for the electrician to take the tepid tub apart plus repair all of the problems. My dad only paid several hundred dollars for the hot tub. At that point, he knew it was time to take the tepid tub to the dump. He wasn’t going to spend money on the electrical service repairing another 350 bucks so it was best to take it to the dump.
