I know it’s silly that I love my dog as much as I do, but I can’t help it! She is just the cutest thing! The only problem is, she is a Siberian Husky, so she absolutely hates the heat.
Living in the northern part of the country, this isn’t a problem most of the year.
However, during the summer, I feel so bad that my dog is uncomfortable. She rarely wants to go outside and is always panting. Luckily, I have a ductless mini split air conditioning system, which means I can zone control the heating and cooling in my home. Because I spoil my dog with love, I make sure that the room she spends time in is kept extra cool. Typically, I keep that zone of the house about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. I can tell that my husky really appreciates it because she spends just about all her time in that room during the summer. To me, it’s worth spending a little extra money on utilities if I know that my dog is comfortable. I am glad that I live in a place where the climate is mostly on the cooler side. I don’t know if I’d be willing to spend the extra money on air conditioning if it were more than a couple months out of the year.
