Does anyone actually like going to high school or college reunions? I don’t have great memories from going to school, and the last thing I wanted to do was stroll down memory lane.
Alas, my wife Beth was quite insistent that we attend our 20 year reunion.
Beth has even worse memories of high school than I do, which is why it was so important to her. In those days she was overweight and considered to be a loser. Her desire to go back is to show off to all our schoolmates that we have become very successful HVAC contractors. In other words, she wants to rub our success in the HVAC industry in everyone’s face as a “See, I told you so!” I can hardly blame her for that. Beth went to college to study marketing and advertising, while I went to trade school to get my HVAC certification. Once we combined our individual skills, we started to build our own HVAC contracting company with a large web presence. Beth’s skills with social media and Google ads have grown our HVAC client list remarkably, in a very short period of time. She doesn’t know the first thing about heating and cooling systems, but her web savvy is what made this company a success! I can hardly fault Beth for wanting to go back to the old crew and show off her success in the HVAC industry. I think she has earned it. If the HVAC company keeps growing at this rate we will both be retired before the next reunion.
