My client laughed at me when I fell off of her porch yesterday. I was just there minding my own business and trying to get the heating system at her home up and running again when I tripped up on my own feet and fell right off of her front porch. Thankfully, the porch wasn’t high off the ground or I might have killed myself while on the job. I had already been working at her home on the heating system in her basement for several hours when this happened. I had gone upstairs and onto the porch because I was going to the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C truck parked in the driveway. I needed to get something for the heating system. I was thinking about what I needed to get done and how I could leave to go get my breakfast as soon as I finished installing the part. I guess I wasn’t looking at where I was going because of that and I somehow ended up getting tripped up on my work boots and the rug on the front porch. Then I pitched headlong right into the flower bed that was next to the front porch. I wasn’t bruised, however I barely missed smashing my head against a stone garden gnome that was holding an umbrella next to her garden fence. I thought that at least she hadn’t seen me, but that’s when I heard my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C client laughing so hard behind me from the front door. I was so embarrassed, but then it also made me annoyed when I realized that she was laughing without even knowing if I was okay or not.
