I had been feeling unwell over the past couple of weeks.
The air in my apartment felt heavy. I was having lunch with a friend when she told me about her week. She had an issue with her quality air conditioner when its efficiency was reduced, and it would make unusual noises. She got the a/c servicemen to do the air conditioning repairs, significantly improving indoor comfort. When I went home, I called the air conditioning company and booked an appointment for HVAC maintenance. I had gone to see my doctor, and he mentioned an infection from fungi commonly related to neglected quality HVAC equipment. I had the HVAC installation done a few years back and had never needed an air conditioning technician. Fortunately, the technicians were prompt, efficient, and professional. They assessed the multi-split air conditioning unit, then pointed out the most likely issue. The senior tech explained since the filters were not changed for a while, the air quality had significantly reduced and probably contributed to the infection. He explained in layperson’s terms despite knowing more about air conditioning and the cooling industry. They changed the filters and even illustrated the process so I could independently do it in the future. I was pleased when they also checked the thermostat to confirm its efficiency and proper functions. The workman gave me contacts of a reliable local air conditioning provider where I could get extra filters. I was highly impressed by the professionalism of the workers. I met with my friend today, and as I was telling her about my experience, I realized the technician’s literary saved my life.
