Friday was a very busy day, but I didn’t mind working hard because I had the next two days off work. Friday night I was going out to dinner with my girlfriend and her parents. They agreed to make dinner plans later in the evening so I could join them. My girlfriend knows that I never finished with work until after 7 or 8 on a Friday. She was just as surprised as I was when the last job of the day was canceled and my boss let me go home 2 hours early. I actually had time to shower and shave before we went out to dinner with her parents. We had a really nice time at dinner. The conversations flowed freely and my girlfriend’s mom and dad were very nice to me. In fact, they said they were very happy that I got out of work early so we could spend a little bit more time together. At the end of dinner, my girlfriend’s parents presented her with a check for $1,000. They told us that the money was an early Christmas present and they wanted us to use the cash to make some upgrades in our new place that were necessary. One of those upgrades is in the kitchen. My girlfriend wanted a window AC unit to put in the kitchen, so it would be more cool and comfortable in there when she is making dinner. I told her mom and dad that we were saving, but they wanted us to have the air conditioner now, while the temperatures outside are still warm and humid.
