Alan sat at the table while on the phone talking about what he was going to purchase for his parents for Christmas.
He had only been sitting there for a minute, when he heard an odd noise coming from the basement.
Alan opened the door, and announced it was coming from the furnace. He ran over and the noise was very coming from the gas furnace. Even before Alan could say anything, he had his phone in hand, and he was calling the Heating & A/C corporation. Alan knew he had a concern with the gas furnace last year, but he didn’t take it seriously. The Heating & A/C specialist had mentioned something about replacing the gas furnace, but Alan didn’t have the cash. Here he was, in the middle of winter, and his gas furnace was acting up. Christmas was only a week away and Alan was sad he would need to make the option between buying gifts, or getting a new gas furnace. The Heating A/C specialist would be at the house later that afternoon. Alan had the day off, so he would be home for the Heating and A/C specialist. While waiting for the Heating and A/C specialist, Alan was doing some serious calculations. He was trying to see if he could afford a new gas right now. As much as he hoped his gas furnace would last for the rest of the winter, Alan was doubtful, and needed a game plan. By the time the Heating and A/C specialist arrived, Alan had all the figures, and knew that whatever he said needed done. He would be able to swing it and still buy Christmas presents.
