We ended up getting creative though and would soak our shirts and wrap them around our head to provide a cooling effect
We remember back in the day when we would visit our Grandparents in the summertime. It was always warm outside, but perfectly cool inside their modern home with the ideal temperature control settings. Of course, our Grandfather would get so mad if anybody left the door open for too long or similar matters. One time, we ran outside while playing tag with our cousins, and grandpa ended up yelling so much for leaving the door open. It became somewhat warm in the house and grandpa was saying how extravagant it is to provide the ideal amount of cooling to keep the household so cozy. We had to admit that it made perfect sense and we were just youngsters. We know our siblings never made the same mistake again, but some of our cousins did and they got a yelling of a lifetime. We always had a fantastic time though and we would play outside climbing trees in the apple orchards and even go exploring. It would become quite warm so we would drink water from the hose or head back inside the house to relax in the cooling system. Still, our Grandfather was mad if we came in and out too much. He yelled to either stay in or outside. We ended up getting creative though and would soak our shirts and wrap them around our head to provide a cooling effect. This was similar to modern cooling hats and we didn’t have reflective material to reflect the rays of the sun. We also would experience sunburns from time to time when we did this since we didn’t have the shirts on our backs.
